The crude tanker market continued slowing this week, with charterers taking advantage of long tonnage lists.

The Baltic Dirty Tanker Index slipped 20 points on Friday to hit 1,162, losing 91 points since a week earlier and 582 points since its 2022 high of 1,744 on 12 April.

“The market continues to struggle as fundamentals are sitting strongly in favour of the charterers,” Howe Robinson said of the VLCC market on Friday.
