Schoeller Holdings is stepping up its presence in the product tanker space with an order for a series of MR2 newbuildings.
The Cyprus-based company has struck a deal with Chengxi Shipyard in China for four 50,000-dwt vessels, scheduled for delivery in 2026.
The contracted price remains undisclosed but shipbuilding sources close to Chengxi believe Schoeller will pay about $42m each.
