Finnish technology group Wartsila has won a contract to fit volatile organic compounds (VOC) recovery technology on two new AET tankers.

The order is worth EUR 30m ($37m) to the copmapny. The price also includes LNG fuel gas handling systems and auxiliary engines.

The shuttle vessels are being built at Samsung in Korea.

The tankers will use LNG as the primary fuel, but VOC, which is the gas evaporating from the oil cargo tanks, will also be used by mixing it with the LNG.
