Adnatco, which is headed by chief executive Dr Ali Al-Yabhouni (right), is understood to want a vessel of between 135,000 cbm and 160,000 cbm to take on charter for a period of between one and three years.

Delivery in the first quarter has been requested, brokers say.

Market players seem unclear as to why the Abu Dhabi-based owner, which operates in tandem with LNG-owning outfit National Gas Shipping Company (NGSCO) as the shipping arm of Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (Adnoc), requires the vessel.
