ONGC officials say France’s CGG, UK-headquartered WesternGeco, Dubai-based Polarcus and Norway’s Dolphin Geophysical are competing for the business.

The energy major is expected to fix two dual-source, multi-streamer units with onboard data-processing and interpretation facilities for three-dimensional (3D) studies.

It is currently focusing on its East Panna and Central Graben offshore blocks on India’s west coast.

The two contracts, estimated to be worth $90m each, are expected to be awarded by next month.
