The company, which was founded in 1972, initially concentrated on transporting sand but managing director Sindre Matre says the change of name reflects the fact that Sandfrakt has become more international and carries many other cargoes. Sand now comprises only a relatively small part of the company’s activities.
Arriva has 10 small self-discharging bulkers and is set to renew and expand its fleet.
