Two containerships formerly chartered by collapsed Hanjin Shipping have been held off Chittagong in Bangladesh for almost five months, with the port authority defying a court order that one of them be allowed to sail.
TradeWinds understands that the Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has placed guards onboard the 1,730-teu SFL Europa (built 2003), which is owned by John Fredriksen’s Ship Finance International (SFL), and the Japanese-controlled, 1,800-teu Hanjin Ho Chi Minh (built 2008).
