Industry sources say bids are due in before the end of this month. They add that the French giant is trying to stick to its planned schedule for the 2.4-million-tonne-per-annum (mtpa) capacity floater, which will be sited 250 kilometres (155 miles) off Darwin, Australia, in the Bonaparte Basin of the Timor Sea.

But the schedule appears to have slipped back 12 months.
