Seattle-based Holland America Line (HAL), the premium mass-market brand in the giant Carnival Corp empire, is reportedly looking to shed some older cruise tonnage from its fleet.

Well-placed cruise industry sources say the company is quietly touting several of its Statendam-class, 55,800-gt ships built in the early to mid-1990s, along with the 39,000-gt Prinsendam (built 1988).

The vessels have not been officially earmarked for sale and continue to feature in the company’s cruise schedule.
