Greek owner Leon Shipping & Trading has made a move in the sale-and-purchase (S&P) market by snapping up a nine-year-old medium-range (MR) tanker from Chemikalien Seetransport of Germany.
The 40,000-dwt Gandhi (built 2008) has changed hands for $15.8m and has been renamed Leon Hermes. The price is in line with expectations.
In December, Leon sold the Fukuoka-built, 9,100-dwt tanker Leon Dias (built 2003) to Eastern Tanker of South Korea for $8.75m.
