Reederei Nord Klaus E Oldendorff denies reports that it has turned to China's Hantong Ship Machinery for a series of four handymax bulkers.
The Cyprus-based company is said to have inked a letter of intent at $28.5m per ship for deliveries beginning in the second quarter of 2008.
Captain Peter Rybarczyk, managing director at Oldendorff's office in Hamburg, says no talks have been held with Hantong, which is already building bulkers for Clipper Group and Polish Steamship.
