Germany’s Oldendorff Carriers is bolstering its orderbook for newcastlemax bulkers.
The Lubeck-based company has exercised two options at Taizhou Catic Shipbuilding in China.
They are the last 208,000-dwt newbuilding options Oldendorff was holding and takes to eight the total it has booked at the yard.
Oldendorff is understood to have made a heavy upfront payment of 30% for the newcastlemaxes, with each costing approximately $52m.
