Japanese shipping company Orix Maritime is to phase out operating ships from its owned fleet on the spot market. The Japanese bulk trader wants to focus more on chartering out, broking and financing vessels. The Tokyo-based company presently operates a fleet of around 16 Handysize and Panamax vessels.
Orix Maritime was set up in 1977 to own ships financed by the Orix Group.
