Greece’s Efploia Shipping has been fined $925,000 for dumping oil from the bulker Aquarosa last year.
The technical manager of the ship had pleaded guilty in federal court last August after the offence in February at Baltimore.
The ship’s owner, Aquarosa Shipping of Denmark, was also fined $925,000.
Both were ordered to pay a combined $550,000 to a foundation to help restore the Chesapeake Bay.
