D’Amico Tankers’ Peter Russotti is TradeWinds Maritime Photographer of the Year for 2011.
The keen snapper, who works in the Italian company’s London chartering department, ended up a clear winner in a readers’ poll with his brilliant shot of a shaft of light illuminating the gloom of a tank on the 36,000–dwt Cielo di Salerno (built 2002).
His colleague Mark Roberts, who was one of many who voted for him, said it was taken during his first visit to one of the shipowner’s tankers.
