Icelandic line Eimskip has signed contracts to build two new 2,150-teu containerships in China.
After TradeWinds first broke the story of an imminent order last week, the company said on Wednesday it had finalised a deal for the vessels at Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard.
It is paying $32m each for delivery in 2019.
Eimskip is now working on securing funding for the ships.
Its slot-share partner Royal Arctic Line (RAL) of Greenland has also signed up for one sistership at the yard.
