Spot rates for the small but versatile bulkers maintained steady upward momentum on voyages from Europe to Brazil but dropped sharply on the return route, Baltic Exchange data showed.
The time charter average rate along the Skaw-Passero trip to Rio De Janeiro-Recalada improved 5.6% to $13,504 per day on Friday from seven days earlier, continuing a rate ramp-up that began at $11,193 per day on 17 September.
