Shipbrokers are unlikely to stop providing the Baltic Exchange data to compile route indices. But they want their contribution to the market better recognised, says Pierre Aury, chief executive of Competitive Ship Brokers Ltd (CSBL).

The existing contract with panellists to supply market assessments is for a minimum of three years from 2016. That means CSBL brokers, and others among the approximately 30 Baltic panellists, are entitled to serve 90 days’ notice to end the agreement any time from November this year.
