ABS executive vice president Kirsti Tikka is retiring after 19 years at the Houston based classification society.
Tikka, who is 62, is to join Pacific Basin as independent non-executive director.
In a statement Pacific Basin said: “Environmental regulations, sustainability and new technologies including new ship and engine designs as well as new fuels and propulsion technologies will become increasingly important challenges for Pacific Basin and our industry.
