Denmark’s Lauritzen Bulkers has logged its best annual profit since 2010 in buoyant dry cargo markets.

But the owner and operator is seeing “more subdued” rates this year.

The privately-owned company said the “exceptional and unpredictable year” has validated its decision to transition to a short-term trading and operating model.

Net earnings for the handysize specialist came in at $103m, from a loss of $18m in 2020.
