Safe Bulkers will soon no longer have any vessels built before 2004 under its fleet renewal programme.
The Greek shipowner said it has sold the 76,900-dwt panamax Koulitsa (built 2003) for $13.6m to an undisclosed buyer.
The Koulitsa, due to be delivered to its new owner in the fourth quarter, was replaced in mid-June by a 2013-built 78,000-dwt panamax bought for $22m.
