The owner and insurer of a grounded cargoship are working on a salvage plan in Corsica.

The French Mediterranean maritime authority said operations continue to secure the site near Bonifacio where the 3,000-dwt Rhodanus (built 1998) steamed ashore after missing a turn, despite 50 minutes of warnings from traffic controllers.

Salvors have been contacted to come up with a plan to refloat the ship, which needs to be lightered.
