NYK vehicle carrier to feel the breaker’s burn

Japan’s NYK Line is ending the year by selling a third pure car truck carrier (PCTC) for Hong Kong Convention-compliant green recycling in India.

The sale of the 4,985-ceu Jinsei Maru (built 1990) has been concluded at a reported $366 per ldt, which equates to $5.5m for the ship.

While the Jinsei Maru is the third PCTC that NYK has scrapped this year, the vessel is the 13 ^th scrapped globally in 2019 according the VesselsValue data.
