Japanese tanker, bulker and car-carrier owner Meiji Shipping has seen net profits rise more than fourfold in the latest quarter despite a slump in earnings from operations.
Meiji posted net income of JPY 592m ($4.9m) for the period ended 30 June, a massive rise from the JPY 129m recorded in the same quarter in 2006. Revenues also surged to JPY 4.7bn,
