The vessels are expected to be completed between 2018 and 2020, Nikkei reports.

According to the price given, each newbuilding would cost around $24m.

Japanese finance group Orix has been chartering ships through its subsidiary Orix Maritime, established in 1977.

Clarksons lists Orix with a fleet of 13 vessels, including two bulkers. The shipbroker's records show it has no newbuildings right now. 

Attempts to reach Orix executives for comment were unsuccessful at the time of writing.
