Maritime New Zealand has appointed Captain Jon Jon Peters as the new harbour master for the Port of Taharoa.
Located on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand, Taharoa is a small village whose main industrial activity is iron sand mining run by New Zealand Steel.
Peters, 51, has more than 25 years’ maritime experience, including working extensively as a cargo superintendent, ship agency manager, ship surveyor and cargo terminal manager.
