A new name has joined the list of companies rumoured to have purchased a kamsarmax from Japan’s Nissen Kaiun.

UK-based brokers have identified Greece’s Chronos Shipping as buyer of the 82,000-dwt Crystal Star (built 2014).

The market has been rife with speculation about the new owners of the Sanoyas Shipbuilding-constructed vessel, offers for which were invited last week.

The vessel, which is due for special survey in June, is believed to have fetched between $24m and $24.5m.
