First Ship Lease Trust is borrowing $18m to refinance its two remaining chemical tankers.
The Stathis Topouzoglou-led tanker and boxship owner accepted a bank offer for a senior secured amortising loan for the 20,000-dwt FSL London and FSL New York (both built 2006).
It had been "considering sale or re-financing options" for the ships but opted for the latter amid a weak market for chemical tankers.
