Japan’s Taiheiyo Kaiun has increased its first-half loss forecast after scrapping bulker charters.



The Tokyo-listed tanker and dry cargo player said its net deficit in the six months to 30 September will be JPY 5.12bn ($53.74m), compared to the previous forecast of a loss of JPY 1bn.

It made a loss of JPY 421m in the first six months last year.



Revenues are still expected to be JPY 4.26bn,
