Norwegian bank DNB has recorded a "significant" drop in loan losses during the first quarter.

The lender said impairments to 31 March were NOK 562m ($64.73m), down NOK 612m year-on-year.

"The outlook for the Norwegian economy is generally more positive," it said.

"Impairment losses on loans to large corporates were somewhat lower in the first quarter."

Profit hit NOK 4.54bn
