Tanker recycling should continue at a steady clip but a more balanced fleet is still needed for sustained progress in the freight market, Euronav chief executive Paddy Rodgers says.

Higher scrapping prices, less revenue from older tonnage and the pending IMO 2020 mandate should push it along in the second half of 2018 but the newbuild roster "remains concentrated particularly" on VLCCs well into 2019, he said.
