A first LNG bunkering operation has taken place on the Great Lakes in Canada with the truck-to-ship supply of marine fuel to an asphalt-bitumen-chemical carrier.

Canadian shipowner Desgagnes' 14,700-dwt Damia Desgagnes (built 2017) was bunkered with nearly 400 cbm of LNG by REV LNG.

The volumes were supplied by 10 trucks, each bringing in 10,000 gallons of LNG, at the Port of Hamilton’s Pier 22 on Lake Ontario on 9 December.
