Australian energy advisory EnergyQuest has played down the potential damage of Japan’s aggressive new plan to cut its dependency on fossil fuels by reducing LNG usage.
Japan, the world’s top LNG importer, called for more renewables such as wind and solar to replace natural gas in a revised plan released last week.
The country's new draft energy plan calls for reducing LNG for power generation from 37% of energy supply to 20% over the next decade.
