A vessel has been bunkered with LNG in the UK for the first time.

The Norwegian-controlled 7,350-dwt cement carrier Ireland (built 2016) was supplied with LNG as bunkers trucked in by supplier Flogas at the Port of Immingham on the country’s east coast earlier this month on 16 August.

The vessel is operated by KGJ Cement.

Flogas Britain, which has partnered with Associated British Ports (ABP) on the pioneering bunkering project, says it will invest in storage and bunkering facilities at ABP ports when required.
