Japan's MOL and Marubeni have formed a joint venture to study the feasibility of setting up an LNG transhipment facility in Kamchatka.
Japanese Project Promotion Vehicle in the Far East (JPPV) will be established with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, the Far East Investment and Export Agency and the Far East and Baikal Region Development Fund.
The move follows the signing of an MOU last year with Yamal LNG producer Novatek on the terminal plan.
