Oslo-listed Avance says the matter will lead to a provision in its first quarter accounts but president Christian Andersen believes the amount will be small.
Avance sent the 83,000-cbm Monsoon (built 2015) to Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard after a technical irregularity.
In an update to investors, Avance said preliminary conclusions suggest the “aft stern tube bearing will need modifications in order to achieve normal bearing clearances, which are in the fraction of millimetres”.
