Two shipowning entities connected to Germany’s Hammonia Reederei are preparing to do battle with Greek painting and coatings contractor General Shipping in India’s High Court of Gujarat.

The unusual choice of venue is a result of General Shipping having launched the first salvo by briefly holding Hammonia’s 49,700-dwt product tanker Weco Madeleine (built 2016) under arrest in the port of Mundra on the northern shores of the Gulf of Kutch.
