Two tankers have been arrested after they were discovered engaging in an unauthorised ship-to-ship transfer within the Malaysia's territorial waters.

The seizures were part of Operation Anchor Illegal, an ongoing enforcement programme being carried out by the Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) to curb the illegal anchoring and transferring of cargoes.

A total of 83 ships have been arrested for anchoring without permission since the crackdown began in March.
