The “axe fight” between Matson and APL is showing no signs of slowing down.

A ruling in the US federal court for the District of Columbia will allow APL’s anti-trust lawsuit against Matson to move forward, while the Hawaiian boxship owner continues its efforts to get APL ships ejected from a government subsidy programme.

In the case brought by APL, the CMA CGM subsidiary argued that Matson was engaging in anti-competitive practices as APL tried to break into the Guam trade.
