Diana Containerships sold for scrap a panamax vessel that had reportedly been in lay-up for 14 months.
The 4,923-teu New Jersey (built 2006) is going "as is where is" to unidentified buyers for $9.67m. Vesselsvalue estimates a scrapping price of $470 per tonne. The vessel will be delivered in mid-March.
Diana bought the vessel from Shoei Kisen in March 2015 for $21.5m.
