Demand for feeder containership newbuildings is continuing to be strong, with Maersk Line the latest company to join the bandwagon.

Maersk Line is thought to be approaching shipyards in Japan and China for up to 10 vessels of 1,900 teu, according to shipbuilding sources.

The Danish liner giant is looking for a partner to structure the deal so it can bareboat charter the vessels on a long-term basis, rather than own them outright.
