Polskie LNG sub-contractor Hydrobudowa Polska has applied for liquidation after recently being kicked off the construction site of Poland’s maiden import terminal project.

The local builder this week asked a judge to “change the mode of bankruptcy proceedings involving the liquidation of assets”, it said in a statement.

Polskie LNG’s engineering, procurement and construction consortium, comprising Saipem-Techint and PGB, forced Hydrobudowa Polska off the construction site last month.

Polskie LNG said: “It should also be noted that the works performed by Hydrobudowa were not of strategic importance for the investment since they included two utility infrastructure buildings.

“In the investor’s opinion, the consortium’s withdrawal from the contract with Hydrobudowa was a right step towards continued trouble-free performance of work on the LNG terminal in Swinoujscie.”
