The US Coast Guard has deemed Coos Bay, Oregon, unsuitable to receive LNG cargoes, although Jordan Cove Energy’s hopes to build a terminal there remain unaffected.
In a letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Coast Guard found infrastructure, including fire-fighting services, navigational aids and monitoring systems, to be inadequate.
It also called for a limit on the size of the terminal’s LNG carriers.
