Conbulk scraps second boxship in a week

Greek owner Conbulk Shipping is selling its second containership for scrap within a week.

The 1,684-teu Sonoma (built 1997) is understood to have been sold to India for a firm $341 per ldt or $2.5m.

The Greek owner bought the ship as Nordcloud for $13.5m.

TradeWinds weekly reports today that Conbulk is selling the 1,728-teu boxship Cresco  (built 1996).

That ship went for $335 per ldt with optional delivery.
