The Paris MOU port state organisation has barred a veteran general cargoship that has failed three inspections in the last two years.

The 2,400-dwt Milton (built 1976) was held in Tsiggeli, Greece, on 20 February with 16 deficiencies, six of which were clear grounds for detention.

These relate to the stowage and provision of life rafts and rescue boats, corroded decks and an inoperative echo sounder, as well as problems with fire pumps and pipes, and the main engine.
