Gothenburg and London-based Imperial Shipping has sold one of its oldest vessels, the 2,380-lane-metre ro-ro Vikingland (built 1979).

Sources say it went “as is” in Fujairah for $485 per ldt or $2m.

Imperial director Michael Kjellberg confirms the sale but declines to comment on the terms.

The company is renewing its fleet and last November purchased the Flensburger-built, 20,500-dwt bulker Aquila Companion (built 2000) for a reported $10.5m.
