The cruiseship completed its final voyage for NCC on 1 July and will be laid up in a yard in Wakayama Prefecture until sold.
Cruise-industry observers in Japan say that negotiations are underway to sell the ship to what is being described as “foreign interests”.
They believe it is unlikely to command a strong price as its size makes it a difficult fit for the current requirements of the industry.
