Leading shipbroker Clarksons is giving up on the container paper market.
Its London-based freight-derivatives desk has ceased box activity some three years after it made a pioneering move into the business.
Two brokers who had been working containers, Benjamin Gibson and David Barnes, have left the company. In recent months, the dearth of business has seen them divide their time between containers and iron ore derivatives.
