Vassilis Dalacouras confirms that the 3 Maj-built vessel fetched $4.8m, which is $0.5m above demolition value, and has already been delivered to its new owners in a deal that appears to have been done last month.
The ship, renamed Master Nicos, is now listed under the management of Navegadora Transpacifica.
Although several recognised and normally reliable databases list Dalex with another vintage vessel — the 37,000-dwt Polyhronis (built 1980) — in its fleet, Dalacouras reveals that the ship was sold for demolition in 2011.
