The vessels are understood to be costing between $74m and $75m each for delivery in 2017. Jiangnan is a pioneer in VLGC construction in China. The two latest newbuilds involve an improved design by the yard, which has increased capacity from 83,000 cbm to 85,000 cbm.

TSM started ordering VLGCs at Jiangnan in 2013, with the first three in the series costing less than $70m each.
